Mmabana Day-Care Centre

GROW TOGETHER
Mmabana Day Care Center had its humble beginnings in 1990 with only a handful of children being cared for by Mrs. Helen Rasedile at her home. Over the years, due to the high demand of parents that wanted to offer their children and toddlers the best care and preparation for primary school, the Day Care Center has grown to over 300 children with 10 teachers, 8 classes and 3 additional staff members.
The center is well positioned in Embalenhle to serve the local community, and provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for the local children. The center is very popular and has strong links within the local communities. The day to day care and education of the children is the responsibility of the school principal, Mrs. Helen Rasedile and her trained staff. Children are prepared to go on to Primary Schools in the TEKS area.

Latest project

Mmabana Day Care Center and Just Grow Permaculture have partnered in a project to upgrade the school vegetable garden.
The main objective of Phase 1 of the proposed project is to re-generate the existing kitchen garden into a sustainable, productive, poly-culture system that will provide a healthy addition to the children’s diets. Other areas throughout the property will also be utilized fully to provide additional growing space for productive plant species. Water storage and catchment systems will also be installed to provide water security and enable the proper functioning of the entire system.
